The disorientation is a state when the person loses ability accurately and to think and work clearly. Confusion of consciousness is shown also under the influence of some external factors. Disturbances of consciousness are possible at strong overcooling, at a heatstroke. Often this symptom is noted at people who a long time stayed in an alcohol intoxication, did drugs or strong psychotropic medicines.

How to get rid of a disorientation and confusion of consciousness?

To provide effective treatment of diseases at which at the person disturbances of consciousness and orientation are shown it is necessary to conduct comprehensive examination and to establish the exact diagnosis. Initially the specialist conducts detailed survey of the patient and his close people. If there is a suspicion on existence of organic lesion of a brain, the biochemical blood analysis, other laboratory analyses, EEG, MRT or KT, research of metabolic disturbances is surely conducted.

At senile dementia at the person a number of symptoms is noted: loss of orientation when walking, incoherence of thinking, loss of understanding of own personality. It is necessary to consider what at people with senile dementia can be noted both short-term loss of orientation, and loss of space orientation to longer period. If loss of orientation and dizziness is observed at the patient regularly, it is not necessary to leave him alone on the street.

It is important to remember that loss of orientation in space can lead to the fact that the patient will simply get lost. It is also necessary to ensure the maximum safety of the patient. If it is necessary, it is possible to use supportive mechanical applications. The person at whom senile dementia – an illness of loss of orientation in time and space is noted – has to be in the quietest and benevolent situation. If at the patient only temporary loss of orientation is noted, it is always desirable to hold near him a calendar, hours. Whenever possible the nurse or someone from relatives constantly has to look after the patient. Depending on a condition of the patient the doctor allows it to sit, go, go outside.

Sometimes with confusion of consciousness reception of antidepressants is appointed sick. It is important to control constantly the arterial pressure, pulse, not to allow dehydration.

If at the person confusion of consciousness is shown suddenly, it is necessary to see a doctor surely urgently. For example, disturbances of consciousness can suddenly be shown at a diabetes mellitus if in blood sugar level sharply goes down.

At the expressed social disorientation at the child it is necessary to consult surely with the psychologist. The specialist will prompt what behavior model to prefer to promote social adaptation of the child.

As measures of prevention of disturbance of consciousness and orientation it is desirable to adhere to the principles of healthy nutrition, not to abuse alcohol, to get enough sleep regularly fully. A sick diabetes mellitus it is necessary to control the content in sugar blood constantly. Elderly people should take that medicine which is attributed by the doctor. For prevention of senile dementia it is important to conduct whenever possible active life and it is obligatory to train memory and a brain.
