Pharmacodynamics

Synthetic received analog of a histamine. Has agonistic effect in relation to H1 receptors of a histamine and antagonistic action is relative H3 receptors, and also possesses insignificant activity in relation to H2 receptors. Drug by blocking Nz-retseptorov and reduction of their quantity strengthens an exchange and process of release of a histamine. At the same time, microcirculation in basilar arteries becomes more active and the blood stream in an inner ear amplifies.

Oppressing diaminoxidase, Betagistin blocks process of disintegration of an endogenous histamine and has a promoting effect on receptors of an inner ear that influences precapillary sphincters and increase and to acceleration of a precapillary blood-groove in a snail and a labyrinth promotes. As a result of stabilization of a blood-groove in a labyrinth endolymphatic pressure in structural formations of an inner ear is normalized owing to what the subjective feeling of dizziness decreases. Betagistin also strengthens a blood stream of structures of a brain.

Drug stops pristupoobrazny displays of vestibular dizziness of various genesis, eliminates various cochlear frustration, a ring and a sonitus, without allowing development of deafness. Betagistin possesses also the expressed central action. Blocking H3 receptors, normalizes process of transmission in synoptic neurons of kernels of a vestibular nerve at the level of trunk part of a brain, reducing time of recovery of function of a vestibular mechanism after a neurectomy.

Is histamine-like connection, drug does not exert impact on permeability of walls of capillaries, a tone of smooth muscles, system to the ABP and on secretion of a gastric juice.

Pharmacokinetics

Drug is quickly absorbed in a gastrointestinal tract, meal slows down process of absorption. Bioavailability at the level of 100%. Betagistin biotransformirutsya almost completely in a liver with formation of pyridylacetic acid. Cmax in blood and in urine is defined in 1 hour after reception. It is removed through kidneys and in insignificant quantities through intestines.

Indications to use

Contraindications

High sensitivity to drug, an aggravation of a peptic ulcer of a stomach, bronchial asthma, a pheochromocytoma, age till 12 flyings.

Betagis, application instruction (Way and dosage)

Pill Betagis is taken after food. To adult patients at course treatment appoint drug in a dose of 24-48 mg a day (3 times on ½ — 1 tablet). The course of treatment is defined by the doctor, its duration can vary ranging from 3 weeks to several months.

Overdose

Pain in epigastric area, nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, a headache, increase of the ABP, it is rare — spasms.

Interaction

At joint reception with antihistaminic HP efficiency of drug decreases.
