Structure

In 1 ml of syrup — Ambroxol of a hydrochloride of 3 mg. Sorbitol, methylparahydroxybenzoate, propylene glycol, propilparagidroksibenzoat, saccharinate sodium, water, fragrance crimson as excipients.

In 1 tablet — Ambroxol of a hydrochloride of 30 mg. Corn starch, magnesium stearate, lactose, talc as excipients.

Release form

• Syrup of 100 ml with a dosing spoon.
• Tablets of 30 mg.

Expectorant.

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

Pharmacodynamics

Is synthetic mucolytic and expectorant drug. Has sekretolitichesky and expectorant effect. Promotes fluidifying of bronchial contents. Stimulates activity of cilia of an epithelium mucous bronchial tubes. Peristaltic reductions of ciliate cells of an epithelium remove slime. Considerably improves slime transport, increases a mucous component of a phlegm. Reduces viscosity of a phlegm. Increases synthesis of surfactant in alveoluses which interferes with their fall and which synthesis is broken at bronchopulmonary diseases. Does not provoke a bronchospasm, and on the contrary reduces hyperreactivity of bronchial tubes. Safety of Ambroxol gives the chance to use drug in a neonatology.

Increases concentration of some antibiotics (amoxicillin, erythromycin, a tsefuroksim) in a bronchial secret.

Ambroxol — an active metabolite of Bromhexine, but is more effective, renders fast expectorant effect which is noted in 30 min. and lasts 6-12 h.

Pharmacokinetics

Differs in high absorption, the maximum concentration is defined by 2 h. Contacts proteins for 80%. Is exposed to a metabolism in a liver. The elimination half-life of 7-10 h, increases at a renal failure. It is removed by kidneys.

Indications to use

Diseases at which allocation of a viscous phlegm is noted:

• bronchoectatic disease;
• tracheitis;
• obstructive bronchitis;
• bronchitis;
• bronchial asthma;
• laryngitis;
• pneumonia.

Contraindications

• age till 12 flyings (tablet);
• hypersensitivity;
• I trimester of pregnancy;
• lactose intolerance.

With care it is appointed at a liver/renal failure, the II-III trimester of pregnancy, a peptic ulcer, lactation.

Side effects

• rash, urticaria, Quincke's edema, dermatitis, it is rare — an acute anaphylaxis;
• headache;
• dysuric frustration;
• diarrhea or locks;
• rhinorrhea;
• gastralgia, nausea, vomiting at prolonged use.

Bronkhorus, application instruction (Way and dosage)

Is accepted inside, after food, with a large amount of water. — 1 tablet three times a day, about 2 tablets 2 times a day are possible for adults and children since 12. Without appointment of the doctor more than 5 days are recommended to accept it.

Tablets Bronkhorus are contraindicated to children till 12 flyings. At this age category syrup Bronkhorus who is accepted during food and a half a glass of water or juice is applied. It is necessary to remember that in 1 h l. syrup — 15 mg of Ambroxol. Children are 5–12 years old — on 1 h l. 2-3 times; 2-5 years — 0,5 h l. three times a day; to newborns and children till 2 flyings — 0,5 h l. twice a day. Plentiful drink is recommended. Treatment of children till 2 flyings is carried out by the doctor.

Overdose

It is shown by nausea, vomiting, a diarrhea, dispepsichesky frustration. Treatment: the gastric lavage should be carried out in the first 2 hours after drug overdose.

Interaction

Use of antibechic drugs complicates otkhozhdeny phlegms.

Increases penetration in mucous bronchial tubes of amoxicillin, doxycycline, a tsefuroksim, erythromycin.

Most often meet About use of this drug for children. Bronkhorus to children was appointed from early age and was recommended only at cough with the viscous hardly separated phlegm.
