Emotional and unstable frustration of the personality
Emotionally unstable frustration of the personality is a state at which at the patient the expressed impulsiveness, disbalance is shown. At the same time to the patient very difficult independently to control such manifestations. People with this frustration are inclined to actions without their effects, they have always an unstable mood, and strong affective flashes can arise because of the smallest occasion. By estimates of specialists, this illness is noted at 2-5% of the population. More often the illness affects women. Specialists allocate two types of such frustration: impulsive type and boundary type.
At patients the expressed symptoms of such state decide on emotional and unstable frustration of the personality. Emotional frustration at the person is expressed by strong excitability and irritability which is, as a rule, combined with rancor, malignancy, explosive character. Such people are excitable, they note viscosity of affective reactions. Frequent mood swings at them are combined with pronounced explosions of emotions. Affective fluctuations develop as an effect of influence of the external reasons which very often happen insignificant. People at whom emotionally unstable frustration of the personality develops almost always look for the reasons for discontent, everything irritates them. As a rule, such patients cannot adequately assess a situation in view of the fact that they lack judiciousness.
Emotional frustration of the personality induces the person to perceive all ordinary events which happen in life every day, to a tragedy shade. Therefore, the majority of situations cause in them the serious tension of emotional character, and, as a result, serious fits of anger. The last is especially often shown at the family conflicts that, as a result, conducts, to rough manifestations of indignation and even to a physical abuse.
Such patients are not inclined to react adequately to objections, they cannot long listen to foreign opinion and are extremely categorical in all disputes. Interests of other people practically do not concern them as they are categorically sure of own importance. But at the same time such people are not capable to realize that they are responsible for the conflicts. On the contrary, they are inclined to consider that all people around do not appreciate them and cannot understand.
For this reason the correct treatment of emotional unstable frustration of the personality allows not only to improve a condition of the sick person, but also to eliminate tension in a family which arises because of his illness.
Organic emotionally labile frustration are subdivided into two types. These are impulsive and boundary options of a course of a disease.
Continuous manifestations of very strong emotional excitability are inherent to people with impulsive type. This frustration is initial it is shown at children at early preschool age. Such kids often shout, they constantly show embitternment. If parents declare certain bans or limit their freedom, then such actions cause the expressed reactions of a protest in children. At the same time they show aggression and rage.
When such child goes to school, symptoms of a disease become more expressed because of what they are considered, as a rule, as "difficult" children. They are very mobile, constantly play pranks and at the same time do not react to notes. Such school students are inclined to whims and constant sensitivity. Irritability is often combined with cruelty and gloom. In collective to such children to communicate with peers very difficult as they are unaccomodating and often show rancor. Communicating with the peers, they aim to be leaders, to dictate own orders and to order. As a result such manifestations lead to the conflicts. And here such children most often treat study without particular interest. It is difficult to carry away them some original approaches to school objects and out-of-class occupations. As a result, children with this frustration graduate from school hardly, and in further life it is very difficult for them to keep on a stable workplace.
Attacks of rage, rage to which sharp motive excitement is often added are characteristic of the created psychopathy of excitable type. In the period of quick temper such people are capable to make absolutely rash actions which can bear danger to surrounding people. Such behavior is especially brightly shown at people with impulsive type of emotional frustration during alcoholic intoxication. In spite of the fact that such people show activity, they are often not capable to act directionally and to agree with surrounding people, reaching compromise. People of whom disinhibition of inclinations, tendency to sexual excesses is characteristic occur among patients of this kind.
On condition of the correct influence from an environment and special approach to education psychopathic manifestations at the person can be stabilized over time, and sometimes and completely to be compensated. Under such circumstances approximately by 30-40 years the behavior of the person becomes stabler, and manifestations of emotional excitability considerably decrease.
But also other way of development of such form of emotional frustration is possible. In that case psychopathic features amplify. It is promoted by hobby for alcohol, chaotic life, intolerance and fieriness in desires. In such cases social adaptation is broken. In especially hard cases such people can make the acts leading to violation of the law.
The boundary type of emotional frustration is shown in a different way. At establishment of the diagnosis this state should be differentiated with schizophrenia, shizotipichesky frustration, affective frustration, phobias.
The aggravated impressionability, vivid imagination, activity of cognitive processes is characteristic of boundary type of the personality. People show constant desire to be included in an area of interest which are actual for them. Such people are especially sensitive to those barriers which can arise on the way to self-realization, they always try to function on a maximum of opportunities. Such people can even react to the most ordinary events too brightly and is even somewhat exaggerated. In a usual situation they have feelings which healthy people are capable to endure only in the period of a stress.
At people with boundary type of emotional frustration already at teenage age very strong suggestibility, tendency to imagination is observed. They very quickly change the hobbies, and also cannot get the stable relations with peers. And on the rules established by parents they can not pay attention to school orders at all. Therefore, having quite good intellectual opportunities, such children show bad progress.
Boundary persons also differ in lability of a self-assessment, disturbance of an autoidentifikation, inconstancy of the purposes and vital beliefs. It is easy for them to put some idea any, they come under external influence. Those who show those forms of behavior which are not approved in society occur among such patients much. It can be continuous alcoholism, drug addiction, and also criminal actions.
People with emotional frustration of boundary type very quickly become dependent on other people, and it can be even unfamiliar persons. Patients show supervaluable attachments because of which there are serious conflicts and sufferings in such bonds. Sometimes they can practice at the same time suicide blackmail.
Such people, as a rule, conduct uneven life in which continuous changes in family affairs and social life are observed. They very often pass from one extreme to other. For example, rough and all-consuming feelings are replaced by sudden parting, and increase by some business – sharp loss of interest in it. But nevertheless such people are capable to find a way out of a difficult situation and to adapt to new vital circumstances.
At development of boundary frustration of the personality in patients the long periods of high activity, feeling of acute perception of the surrounding phenomena are periodically shown. But under the influence of some vital events such periods are replaced by dysthymic phases. Then the person feels that his mental opportunities decrease, sometimes, in especially hard cases, manifestation of mental anesthesia is observed.
Diagnosis is carried out by the specialist psychiatrist. In the course of establishment of the diagnosis it is important to differentiate this type of frustration with organic frustration of the personality at which similar symptoms are observed, however except them there are also dismnestichesky and cognitive disturbances, frustration of inclinations.
Basis for establishment of such diagnosis are supervision of the doctor over behavior of the patient, in particular, detection of disturbances in emotional reaction, thinking, perception and other inadequate manifestations.
For treatment emotional and unstable frustration of the personality use of both individual, and group psychotherapy, gestalt therapy practices. Also behavioural therapy and control methods over impulses is applied. Reception of medicamentous means — drugs of lithium and anticonvulsant drugs practices.
If at the patient alarm attacks are observed, the doctor appoints treatment tranquilizers. At regular decrease in mood at the patient with such frustration reception of antidepressants practices. To people with the high level of excitability the course of treatment neuroleptics is appointed.
It is necessary to appoint therapy so that to provide process of reorganization of the identity of the patient, to create at it new installations and to change his attitude both towards itself, and to and to the world surrounding them. Besides, treatment assumes positive impact on the patient for the purpose of calm of alarm, asthenic disturbances, too strong excitability. Therefore, such treatment can continue for many years.
Prevention of manifestation of emotionally unstable frustration of the personality at children assumes, first of all, providing favorable conditions for education and development of the child. At continuous manifestation from its party of aggression and impulsiveness parents have to consult surely at the psychologist or at the psychiatrist. It is important to harmonize a situation in a family that the child grew in a benevolent and positive situation.
One more important measure of prevention – refusal of alcoholic beverages and psychoactive agents.
