Pharmacokinetics

Drug is completely and quickly absorbed from a gastrointestinal tract. Cmax is reached in 2 hours. Bioavailability of drug more than 90%. Primidonum biotransformirutsya in a liver therefore it is formed 2 pharmacological active a metabolite: feniletilmalonamid and phenobarbital. Primidonum and derivative metabolites are allocated with breast milk. It is removed with urine.

Indications to use

Treatment of epilepsy of various genesis with mainly big convulsive attacks.

Contraindications

High sensitivity to drug, kidneys/liver diseases, a leukopenia, anemia, pregnancy, a lactation.

To take with caution to persons of advanced and children's age because of high risk of motive and paradoxical excitement.

Side effects

Headache, drowsiness, uneasiness, dizziness, apathy, psychotic reactions, ataxy, vomiting, nausea, leukopenia, B12 - scarce anemia, an arthralgia, allergic reactions. At long reception — development of medicinal dependence.

To accept after food, once in a single dose of 125 mg, then the daily dose is increased by each 3 days by 250 mg - for adults and by 125 mg to children till 9 flyings. Drug accelerates a metabolism and weakens pharmacological effect of paracetamol, indirect anticoagulants, GKS, tricyclic antidepressants, glycosides of a foxglove, caffeine, chloramphenicol, cyclosporine, Disopyramidum, doxycycline, a dakarbazin, left thyroxine, a meksiletin, metronidazole, quinidine, vitamin D, the phenopro-hair dryer, Aminophyllinum, theophylline, an okstrifillin.

At joint reception with the alcohol, drugs possessing the central depriving of bonuses action strengthens oppression of TsNS. Strengthens action of HP with somnolent action, a derivative methotrexate, cyclophosphamide, a sulfonilmochevina, and also toxic action on a liver of group of the drugs used for the general anesthesia (a metoksifluran, a halothane, an enfluran).
