Structure

One tablet contains 30 mg of a glikvidon.

Act as excipients: lactoses monohydrate (134,6 mg), the dried-up corn starch (70 mg), soluble corn starch (5 mg) and magnesium stearate (0,4 mg).

Release form

Drug is issued in tablets of white color and with a smooth surface, having slanted edges, to risk and an engraving "57C" on the one hand and a logo of firm on the other hand. Tablets are packaged in blisters of 10 pieces, in one box there can be 3, 6, 12 blisters.

Pharmacological action

Tablets Glyurenorm possess hypoglycemic action.

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

Hypoglycemic effect of drug is caused by its stimulating influence on synthesis of endogenous insulin β - cells in a pancreas.

Data on pharmacokinetics

Oral administration gives fast and almost full absorption in a gastrointestinal tract and allows to reach after a single dose in 30 mg 2–3 hours of the maximum concentration later — 500–700 nanograms on 1 ml which decreases half in 0,5–1 hour.

Process of a metabolism happens completely in a liver, then there is a removal process mainly intestines together with bile and fecal masses, and also in insignificant quantity — together with urine (about 5%, even at long regular reception).

Indications to use

Drug is appointed at a non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus ІІ type to patients of an average and elderly age group if the dietotherapy is inefficient.

Contraindications

Patients are forbidden to use drug:

  • sick insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus І type;
  • having hypersensitivity to Glyurenorm's components, streptocides and derivatives of a sulfonilmochevina;
  • the patient suffering from diabetic acidosis, ketoacidosis;
  • in a condition of a prekoma, a coma;
  • at pregnancy and feeding by a breast.

Patients with the expressed renal failure have to pass therapy by Glyurenorm under medical supervision.

Side effects

In rare instances hypoglycemic reaction, change of a blood formula, dispeptidny frustration and allergic reactions in the form of skin manifestations was registered. Besides, are possible:

  • leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis (reactions from a hemopoiesis);
  • headaches, dizziness, paresthesia, accommodation disturbances, drowsiness and fatigue (TsNS and sense bodys);
  • ekstrasistoliya, stenocardia, hypotension, cardiovascular insufficiency (CCC).

Glyurenorm, application instruction (Way and dosage)

Initial dose

15 mg (answers 0,5 tab.) should be accepted during a breakfast. Further the initial dose can gradually increase (to 120 mg a day since further increase leads to strengthening of hypoglycemic effect).

Daily dose

Should not exceed 60 mg, it is admissible to accept for once during a breakfast, but for achievement of the best effect it is recommended to divide a dose into 2–3 receptions.

Attention! If you decided to pass to other hypoglycemic means possessing the similar mechanism of action, then the doctor has to establish an initial dose, based on disease. It usually makes 15–30 mg and can increase only according to the recommendation of the attending physician.

Interaction

  • Glyurenorm causes a potentsiation of effect of salicylates, streptocides, derivative phenylbutazone, antitubercular drugs, Chloramphenicol, tetracyclines, derivative Coumarin, Cyclophosphamide, MAO inhibitors, β – adrenoblockers.
  • Weakens action of Chlorpromazinum, sympathomimetics, glucocorticoids, thyroid hormones, oral contraceptives, the means including Niacin.
  • Glikvidon promotes lowering of tolerance to alcohol.
