Removable denture treatment

In modern stomatology removable denture treatment is carried out absolutely differently, than it was several decades ago. In orthopedic stomatology there are three main ways of a denture. This removable prosthetics, fixed prosthetics and conditional and removable prosthetics.

Removable denture treatment occurs in such a way that the person can independently take and establish a denture. Once full denture treatment was a heartrending experience for the patient. Such prostheses were heavy, inconvenient and caused strong discomfort in the person. But now the situation cardinally changed. At production of removable prostheses now in stomatology various materials, the latest technologies are applied. The prices of such prostheses can be different therefore they are available to patients with the different level of prosperity. But the most important that modern removable prostheses are more convenient and comfortable for the patient.

Who needs removable prosthetics?

Now in stomatology removable dentures are used at loss of a large number of teeth, and also with some defects of dentition. However, in the latter case it is sometimes reasonable to put partial and removable prostheses. However if earlier stomatologists often said about what is full - removable prostheses should be applied only in the most extreme cases, then now doctors hold other opinion. The matter is that responses testify to a number of advantages of such designs. In particular the best materials allow to make prostheses which provide their high esthetics. Besides some kinds of removable prostheses (byugelny prostheses, nylon removable prostheses) can be not removed every day before going to bed. Therefore always topical issue how to get used to dentures, becomes much less painful for patients today.

Today the given kind of prostheses remains to the most widespread as in this case the ratio of the main parameters for prostheses which are quality, esthetics and the price remains to the most optimum.

Types of removable prostheses

Уход за съемным протезомSeveral different types of removable dentures are allocated. Use of full removable plastinochny designs of plastinochny prostheses is reasonable if the person completely has no teeth. If dentition is lost partially, there are its serious defects or there are no basic teeth for establishment of fixed prostheses, then the stomatologist recommends to use a full removable plastinochny prosthesis.

Components of a removable plastinochny prosthesis is the basic basis, false teeth, and also special mechanical devices which are responsible for fixing of a prosthesis. The basic plate is made of metal or of plastic. Such dentures are the cheapest method of completion of dentition now. Besides in certain cases this unique production of dentures for the purpose of recovery of earlier lost teeth.

But at the same time the patient who makes the decision what it is better to establish prostheses has to consider and a number of shortcomings of this kind of designs. First of all, it is necessary to understand that after establishment of such prostheses function of the speech and flavoring feelings can be broken. If fixing of a prosthesis happens incorrectly, then the risk of an atrophy of the fabrics which are under it increases. In order to avoid this unpleasant phenomenon timely relocation of a prosthesis is necessary, and also its fixing cream is applied. Perhaps also emergence of allergic reactions to material of which made prostheses. However, the organism can react so even to silicone designs.

Byugelny denture treatment differs from plastinochny in some basic moments. In particular, the masticatory stress when using such prostheses will be evenly distributed up to a jaw. In this case the special arc framework from an easy metal alloy is applied. As a result, use of byugelny prostheses allows to protect teeth and to prevent dedentition in the future. Use of this type of prostheses is reasonable to recover if necessary partially lost teeth on condition of existence of wide intervals. Also clasps apply for the purpose of strengthening of teeth if the person is sick with fabrics of a parodont.

Byugelny prostheses are made by an arch which is used for connection and a support. It is a cast strip from metal which passes under language on a mandible or on the sky on an upper jaw. Basic part of such prosthesis is the saddle part on which false teeth are attached. Also there are special fixers.

This type of prostheses has many advantages to the patient. First of all, it is necessary to consider that the patient gets used to such prosthesis very quickly. It is not necessary to remove every time before going to bed byugelny prostheses. Besides at their use there is no diction disturbance, and in the course of acceptance of food of people does not feel special discomfort. But at the same time prostheses of this type have higher cost. At installation of these prostheses it is necessary to carry out preparation of basic teeth and to establish on them crowns. Besides, on prosthesis material at the person allergic reaction can develop.

Съемные протезыNew type of dentures are flexible prostheses which make of special elastic translucent materials. Their structure such is that at installation the prosthesis imitates mucous oral cavities. Nylon dentures in comparison with other types of prostheses differ in special softness and flexibility. Such removable prostheses are much more comfortable, than usual therefore the person gets used to them much quicker, than to other types of prostheses. Besides, flexible nylon prostheses allow to avoid allergic reactions. They are absolutely harmless to the person and at the same time are steady against any influences of food. Besides production of such prostheses allows to provide the maximum esthetics. Rather high cost of nylon prostheses is compensated by their durability and long service life. Before installation of such prostheses there is no need to grind off teeth, nearby. Despite the fact that, how much is such prosthesis, its advantages provide an optimum ratio of quality and the price.

Advantages of removable dentures

Removable dentures are comfortable in use, are strong, and also allow to provide high esthetics. There are no age restrictions in their use. Such designs are absolutely safe for health of the person, do them, accurately considering all features of jaws of the patient. As a result, the person receives most suitable him and convenient prostheses.

Shortcomings of removable prostheses

For production of removable prostheses tens of the most different materials are now used. But, despite the applied material, the main lack of any removable prostheses is a need periodically them to remove to maintain purity, and also to follow rules of hygiene of a mouth. Besides, from time to time it is necessary to remove prostheses for prevention of developing of different diseases of an oral cavity.

One more essential lack of such prostheses is their insufficient physiology. In the course of chewing loading not on a jaw bone, and on a gingiva surface occurs removable prostheses. However, as a rule, this moment does not affect negatively a state of health of the person in general.

Besides, as shortcomings it should be noted the long period of accustoming to such prosthesis, periodic pain of a gingiva when chewing, feeling of discomfort during reception of food and at conversation. However, these shortcomings are more characteristic of use of removable plastinochny designs. Other types of prostheses are rather comfortable in use. Besides thanks to high quality of modern prostheses of removable type they are demanded and widely applied.

How to look after removable prostheses

The person using removable dentures has to know accurately how it is correct to look after them. Prostheses need to be cleared regularly of a plaque, and also of the food remains which gather for them. To clean prostheses, as well as healthy teeth, it is necessary a toothbrush with toothpaste use. It is desirable to wash out prostheses water after each meal.

The patient has to understand accurately that after such prostheses were imposed, in a mouth pain of different intensity appears. The matter is that removable prostheses gradually settle and put pressure on mucous gums. If such feelings bring strong discomfort, then the specialist carries out special correction of prostheses. The first time the stomatologist adjusts a prosthesis next day after its imposing. However before it the prosthesis has to be in a mouth not less than 4 hours. Further the stomatologist-orthopedist adjusts a prosthesis as required within two weeks after its installation.

As a rule, for one month the patient gets used to carrying a prosthesis. But process of accustoming can sometimes be dragged out also about several months. However, despite temporary difficulties, each person can get used to prostheses.

Prostheses of removable type need to be protected from damages of mechanical and chemical character. If in a prosthesis there was a crack, it is necessary to address the specialist at once. Independently it is impossible to grind or saw prostheses. Once in half a year the patient with prostheses has to visit surely the stomatologist and pass routine inspection.

People who carry prostheses of removable type should not use sticky and viscous food, for example, of a toffee. Such food can stick to a prosthesis and provoke its breakdown. In the first months while process of accustoming to a prosthesis continues, you should not eat firm food. It is better to crush carefully food and to eat in the small portions. Specialists recommend to train skill of chewing, chewing small segments of fruit as they not so rigid to break a prosthesis.
