Toxins

Toxins are called poisons of a biological origin. Toksinologiya is a science about such poisons.

Production of toxins in a human body can result from a set of processes and reactions, for example, tumor cells produce toxins, and also infectious agents, such as mushrooms, viruses, bacteria, parasites, helminths in particular, are capable to make poisons.

Endotoxins represent substances which after allocation by bacteria get to their habitat, that is remain in an organism. Endoksina possess all properties inherent in poisons.

Exotoxins are substances which cosecrete in environment in the course of life activity of microorganisms, they are less dangerous to an organism.

Toxins differ on impact on an organism. Toxins-enzymes destroy proteins, lipids, polysaccharides, nucleic acids. Toxins inhibitors are capable to suppress activity of some enzymes and to break thereby processes of a metabolism in an organism. Neurotoxins make impact on stages of transfer of nervous impulses, break conductivity of nervous tissues and fibers. Such toxins destroy biological membranes thanks to the high superficial activity.
