Transplantation

Transplantation in medical understanding means change of any fabric or body. Most often transplantations are exposed: hair, stem cells, marrow, lungs, liver, heart, kidneys.

Transplantation happens several types:

  • Autologous transplantation, or autotransplantation takes place when a donor of transplantiruyemy fabric or body is her recipient. The autotransplantation of skin, for example, replaced on burned from the unimpaired sites, is widely applied in treatment of burns, especially heavy. Autotransplantation of haematopoietic stem cells or marrow after antineoplastic chemotherapy is rather often applied at himiochuvstvitelny malignant tumors, lymphoma, leukoses.
  • Homotransplantation, or allotransplantation represents a type of transplantation when a donor is immunological also genetically different person.
  • Isogenic transplantation – infrequently applied type of organ transplantation and fabrics when a donor are completely identical enzygotic twins of the recipient in the immunological and genetic plan.
  • Trans-species transplantation, or xenotransplantation is an organ transplantation and fabrics about animals of other species.

Today the question of transplantation remains acute, both with ethical, and from the medical point of view. Despite considerable break in the field of medicine, organ transplantation still remains the most difficult operation because of uncertainty of its outcome. The organism of the recipient of body or fabric can react in an unpredictable way to proteins of the replaced body therefore practically always as a result of transplantation appoint the therapy suppressing immunity of the patient. Besides, the strongest shortage of bodies for this operation and the huge price of such operations, especially in foreign clinics, leads to the fact that not all persons in need can receive change of necessary body.
